Re: another build thread
Good idea to remove the gas tank while the rear is out. Make sure to check it for leaks. Mine was leaking where the fill tube entered the tank. Do you know if the fuel pump is good?
Congrats on being mouse free btw!

Well I'm not going to use the original tank, going to swap a ls1 tank in. I think the pump is gone. Pulled for carb application. I'll end up doing the trap door mod.

Took off the rear sway bar today and painted it. The more I look at the underside of this car the more I almost want to not undercoat. This thing is in great shape!

Re: another build thread
So after sitting for quite a long time I now have a little time to work on the project, over the past several months I have done lots of thinking of what to do. So last night I started ordering some parts, I ordered chassis saver(por15) for entire underbody, bumpers and rear end. I have decided to keep my current rearrear end to allow a deeper dish for future wheels. I plan on swapping my ls1 brakes to this current rear. Along with 28 spline axles,Eaton trutrac, and added camber to rear. Oh and install the lcarb that I ordered. It will still be slow moving but I will post along the way.
Btw the mice problem is back. Partly my fault for not keeping car active. I put in poison and found that all of it is gone! Hopefully the action will scare them off.
Stay tuned for pics on lcarb and axle tube modification which is next.

Re: another build thread

Looks like it came early! It's going to take awhile but once I install the lcarb I will reinstall rear, take over to a garage that I can use for awhile and ill disassemble most, paint, then reassemble and bring back to my house. Slow going but there is progress!

Let me know how you like the chassis saver paint. I'd love to coat the frame on my daily driver wrangler with something heavy duty for the wonderful new england winters here. And keep it up man, looks like your making progress!

Re: another build thread
I almost used hurculiner like you suggested but decided to use this because I probably will.not drive this through the grime that much so it would not be needed. I hear good reviews on this so I thought I would use. It will be brushed on. I would rather do everything at once so teardown and prep will take awhile. Might even redo the engine bay in this stuff, only issue is its already painted with engine enamel. So it might flake in future.

Re: another build thread
Well did some more work today. I found out I didn't really need to move the rear end out yet. But did it anyways. That snowballed into taking out my gas tank. I wonder if the gas is still good?
Then I took off my fenders, side skirt, bumpers etc. I decided to do my undercoating at my house. I was going to take it to a garage but my hookup on a car trailer fell through. Let's hope that it goes as well as I think it will

Re: another build thread
It's really hard to see in pictures but I think it came out well. However, I will never do that again! So much work sanding and then painting. I do have some runs, bubbles, and brush drag. But I'm not really worried about it. Looks better than it did. The product was a lot thinner than I was expecting and stained everything it touched. Overall without having it for weeks and driving on it I like the product. Just would recommend spray on instead of brush.

Re: another build thread
If you take the inner wheel well skirt out, you can then go in with a socket and extension to remove the 4 nuts, if they turn on you, then take a screw driver with a rag and pry a little between the nose and fender. This is how I get those upper 4.
Nice build, sory to hear about the white one.

I did use that trick and it helped some. I eventually had to tighten them to get it loose. I'll put locktite on them when they go.back on.

Looking good. Nice progress. Doing the underside is a huge pain, but one of those things you'll look back on and be like, "yea, so glad I did that!"

That's what I was thinking. Any time I pit a part under the car I just wish it had it. That spohn ta will look a lot better now that it is painted. Along with the rear end. Not to mention.. tons if worry free years down he road if I drive in rain

That pass side connector is a PAIN in the a$$! LOL. My drivers side was easy and fit right up, but the way that pass side goes on is a nightmare. Good thing they work awesome lol. Cars looking good too man!

Re: another build thread
Tell me about it! I mocked it up, drew where I needed to grind on car, pulled it off. Then welded the small.piece on to the long arm. When I put it back on the car the main piece was one inch off the car! So I had to remove again grind piece off and reweld once on car. Still had to fit 1/4 inch steel just to fill gap. Also had to bend "flaps" to fit subframe from being lifted like that for years. All and all 2 hour job took 4 the lcarbs went in nicely but not picture worthy yet.
And thanks for the support guys! I'll try and keep it up!
