stripping paint?
what do you guys do/use to strip a car down to bare metal? whats your process or what do you find works best or easiest?

any specific brand of aircraft paint stripper? ive noticed things like that can be better than others on occasion

not sure i picked it up at one of the auto stores autozone/advanced it was in a white plastic bottle worked real good first 2 are of the rear quarter stripped and the last is finished and painted

Sorry, I have not used stripper in years, we media blast now. Just remember you need a good rinse to nutrelize the stripper when you are done, then a good etching primmer, good luck

It may not need stripped if you are working with the factory finish. If it's been repainted then most likely I would strip it. I use an electric grinder/buffer with an 8" foam pad and 80 grit paper. Makes a dusty mess not a caustic one. And doesn't strip the parts you didn't want to strip but spilled some stripper on and ... you get the idea. It's also easier if you do run into a previous repair you can just not sand into it as much where if the stripper hits bondo it'll take it off too. Use nice new sharp disc's when doing flat panels like the hood so you don't warp it.

cars stripped completely, its half factory paint and the dumb po pray painted the other side
