RPO for window louvers
so im wondering about the legendary aluminum rear window louvers.does anyone know if they were a RPO item? or were they a dealer only add on? if they truly are GM,what would have the RPO code been? and were they available thru the entire model run? if they were a dealer item ,who made them?

Re: RPO for window louvers
DE1 is the RPO for rear window louvers. It is a factory option, but a rare one, and harder to find as the years progressed. It was available from 1986-92, according to the Camaro White Book. Roughly 1,800-10,000 Camaros with that option produced per year, depending on the year.
The White Book does not say who made them, only that GM offered them as an option to compete with all the aftermarket kits that were available at the time.
