rear hatch

So my camaro hatch has an overbite(trailing edge) problem. after reading threads on here, i quickly and easily found the bolts needed for adjustment. heres the new issue, after loosening the bolts from the inside of the car, under the plastic panel near head liner, shocks taken off, glass was moved up, and sat in latch motor and worked great!! tightened bolts, put shocks back on, closed hatch again again..........OVERBITE!!!!! me and a buddy of mine retried it again, worked fine till the shocks went on. could the shocks for the window be too strong? could the bolts on the glass be loose?

Re: rear hatch

IMO Glass and hatch have become seperated. There is a tech tip on TGO home page called hatch alignment 101. Try it and you may take care of a rear water leak at the same time. Good luck and be careful as that piece of glass is very heavy. Be sure to put the plastic washers between the hatch and glass.

Re: rear hatch

dont use the article posted here, where it says lift the hatch then adj, with this you will lose the adj your aiming for when loosening the hatch. first off, you need to know what bolts do what function.

the bolts under the glass let you go side to side, the bolts under the headliner to hatch panel lets you move it around . get the L and R adj made first then make final adj next.

remove the struts and then drop your hatch latch as this will interfear with you trying to make adj. just bump the glas around with it in closed pos and then tighten up the headliner to hatch nuts and your done. if your L to R adj is good the rest can be done with one person, i did mine alone.
