Firechicken76 our usernames are eerily close! I just had to point that out
moving back onto topic, I'm definitely for the stock trans am hood and the the power bulge behind that. Never really been a fan of cowl hoods

Re: Best looking hood: 88 GTA
Ok, im trying to decide on either the gta hood or the formula hood, i have both. im painting the car black, and here is a good idea of what it would look like with black paint.
Here is what it looks like now.

what it would look like painted black with the other hood.

Re: Best looking hood: 88 GTA
Since im going with a black/gold theme, how does this look on the hood?
maybe customize the side that says 5.0 HO, to 5.7 Ls1

Re: Best looking hood: 88 GTA
i just dont think the ram air hood flows with the body lines, it looks good on a 4th gen, but not as good on a third gen.

Re: Best looking hood: 88 GTA
To each thier own. I still have the original hood and going to keep it just incase i want to switch back to that look. Going to get her painted candy apple red but keep the grey ground effects. Myself I don't think the 4th gen spoiler looks good. That's just my opinion. Cheers...

Re: Best looking hood: 88 GTA
I've always really liked the harwood 3" cowl. Which is why I put it on my GTA! I also plan on doing a HSR swap and that extra clearance is going to be nice

Re: Best looking hood: 88 GTA
Thank you! To be 100% honest, when I was considering which hood to get (bought car wrecked in the front, hood was smashed) a lot of people told me not to get the cowl... Sometimes you just have to go with whatever you feel fits your car the best. I really like how mine turned out, and even some of the people who told me not to get it have admitted that they like the look!

Re: Best looking hood: 88 GTA
As of now the poll shows the stock Trans am hood in the lead. This is my fave followed by the small cowl, then the side bulge.
Never liked the Ram air on this body style. Absolutely love it on 4th gens though. Just doesn't fit the rest of the 3rd gen styling IMHO.
But to each his own! If you love it then drive it!

I say stock T/A hood or like a 3" cowl, never been a fan of the Ram Air hoods on the 3rd gens. The side bulge is kinda sweet as well.
