Thinking about buying 89 Iroc Body questions inside (aftermarket T-Tops)

Ok, I talked to the guy about the body, all it needs is a tranny and engine. Here is the lowdown, it has grey/black interior, maroon exterior, had an auto in it, stock rims, 3.23 9 bolt rearend. The guy said it was a tight body and he only wants $595obo for it. The only problem I have with it is it doesn't have T-Tops! I haven't seen the car but I plan to go see it soon. Are there any aftermarket T-tops for these cars that I can get put in if I buy the body and decide I want T-tops?

I wouldn't put aftermarket t-tops in. The chassis on t-top cars is reinforced to deal with the lack of a roof. Putting them into a car not built for it will result in a soda can on wheels. Even if you stiffen the chassis through SFCs and other means, if you ever need new gaskets, or a new top, or any other sort of repairs done, forget it.

I would say lay low w/ the t-tops. Dont put such a priority on it. I suggest do a few projects first, then see if you still want to bother with it. I have t-tops on my firebird and camaro, I dont take them off that much, even when I lived in southern CA...
