3rd gen seats to 4th gen seats conversion
i am presently installing leather transam seats from late model in a 91
formula.....im trying to find someone who can tell me how to wire the
air pump plug so that both lumbar supports work....it looks like there
are 6 wires on that plug...im assuming 3 wires for each lumbar and im
also assuming that each shares a common ground....but please give me any
info you may have....thanks!

I just purchased a set of 98 Lether seats. They supplied the cable that is suppose to connect the driver seat to the passenger with the seats. They also gave me the power connector that i'll need to splice into a live wire. GM sells the cable for about $100.00.
i believe that someone is selling transam leather seats right now in 3rd gen classifieds....
in regards to other post, did they explain to you where to splice in this power cable you have for the air pump(lumbar)...also, did you seats come with air pumps on the bottom of both seats....im assuming this because the set i purchased has a damaged driver side lower frame and doesnt have one...im just trying to figure out the wiring so i dont damage the air pump motor....please let me know what you find out...thanks!

Here is the way I understand it
The lumbar pump is on the passenger side.
It runs under the console. (and even under the carpet if you feel ambitious)
The wire bundle including the air hose connects the driver and passenger side.
The power is supplied by the same small connector that comes up off the driver side floor on camaros and firebirds. It's just power I guess, and feeds both sides, because there is no power running underneath the passenger side.
Now you know why my Camaro seats are for sale.
I put in Trans Am seats
Email me if you need me to go out and look or make something clearer.

The passenger seat contains the lumbar air pump for the driver and passenger sides. The didn't tell me exactly which line to splice for the power. You should only have to connect power to the driver side. Supposedly every firebird should have the connector for power seats even if they didn't come with them. Now the actualy connector is different from 3rd to 4th and they supplied me with a new connector.

ok, well im glad to hear that the lumbar pump is all on the passenger side....as far as the powerplug...the passemger seat has a square plug with 6 wires going to air pump...now since i know both seats are controlled from same air pump, this makes things more confusing because i thought there is a lumbar control for lower and upper parts of seat....but if this is true, i would think there would be more wires....i guess im gonna try and email guys i purchased seats from...maybe they have some ideas....i will post final answer when i get it...
