Replacing & painting front ground effects

Both of the front ground effects on my T/A have cracks in them. New ones from GM are around $100 per side. I plan to buy them this winter. My question is twofold:

1) How do I remove the front ground effects?

2) Can I paint the new ones myself? I don't want them to look ugly or not match the rest of the car. Duplicolor makes Bright White (code 15) spray paint, and I have gray primer and clearcoat paint. Could I do this and have them come out good? I dunno if it would be worth it to have a body shop paint them, they'd probably charge a lot.

I recently took the ground effects off my car and took them up to the body shop. They fixed the scratches, stripped them down, sprayed the correct primer on them (for plastic parts), painted them, and sprayed clear coat on them for $300. I thought it was a fair price and they look great. It really just depends on how much you're willing to spend and how good you want them to look.

Definately more than I am willing to pay. I am gonna go with all new front gfx, rather than having these repaired. I didn't know there was a different primer for fiberglass... thanks for the heads up.

I sure wouldn't use Krylon on my car, but I suppose you can try to paint something else and hold it next to the car to see how well it matches. Just don't expect it to hold up for long.

This car is too nice for me to possibly **** it up like this.... if it does not match the paint of the car, I won't do it.
