Would this work to stiffen the front/rear bumper covers?

I hate the way the front and rear bumpers sag like hell over time. Mine are 83 original, so they are looking more wavy than the pacific ocean. I want to buy new ones anyway, but I dont want them to sag. I have an idea to line the inside, especially the flat parts, with fiberglass. Would this work? has anyone tried it?

Hey Ward
I've see a few cars doing what you are talking about driving around,,, and you don't have a bad idea. The only drawback I could see of using fiberglass on the backside of the nosepiece would be it not adhearing well and breaking completly loose taking you back to square one. or, it adhearing too well and forsay someone bumps into you and it cracks on the underside causing a warp where the crack in the glass is now. I'm not too familiar with fiberglass itself besides knowing it's some pretty rank smelling stuff and a b-tch to sand when someone over uses it. Also,, wouldn't fiberglass be prone to the same sagging effects from heat over time if you're only using a thin layer?(anyone). Maybe cutting some polyurethane foam to shape to brace it from underneath would work,, wedge it between the absorber and the bumper would work ? I tried
Anyone else have any ideas ?
