Quick question on sagging doors

Hey TGO,

So, I had a quick question on one of the most common issues we come across w/these cars. Back when I first bought my car (~ 2 years ago), Both doors sagged, but the drivers side was so bad, sometimes the door latch would come loose! I had a guy bend the hinges and put a new pin and bushing kit in it (I think a cheaper kit, so probably not the best quality). This helped, but didn't make it perfect.

Now that I'm finally getting around to doing body work on the car, I figure it's a good time to fix this issue the right way. All I'm really wondering, is if I can solve this issue w/a better pin and bushing set? or do the hinges need to be replaced too? (I.E. - Is bending the old again one an option, or are they just too stretched/worn out?)

Pics are needed, really.

Do does the bottom hinge look like? If there is a bunch of play it in you basically have to replace the hinge/door.

Move the door and see what the play is.

There is some play around the bottom, but I'll have to play w/it again and see exactly where it's coming from. Seemed like something was kind of loose. I'll have to get pics tomorrow, since the car is up at a workspace/school body shop.

I don't remember where I bought them but a few years ago I replaced my door hinge bushings with the machined bushings with zerk fittings.. Work like a dream.. Don't know if you could still use those since they hinges have been bent.. The were about $95...

Re: Quick question on sagging doors

Oh, just found them again.. These are the greaseable ones.. They have them without zerks also...
