Installing GTS blackouts to firebird..PITA

Am I just stupid or did anybody have a problem installing those blackouts on their firebird. I mean particulary that stupid centerpiece.. Why it isn't a 'standlone piece' with own adhensives?
.. oh well i got it somewhat straight.. hope the whole thing stays still awhile..

thats actually pretty funny, i was trying to install mine on the exact same day and couldn't get the freaken centerpiece in either. so i waited a few days for the other two pieces to set, pulled them off, and tried to put all three pieces on at once and found out it was all two wide to fit....piece of crap...so i figured out which way the center piece would need to shift while the two end pieces were in place and took it to my grinder down stairs and ground about 1/8" off the left side and it fit right in...the key hole lines up and everything. plus they looking SWEET on my black 90 firedbird with the TA ground FX....Rob....

more of a pain than i thought, but they look sweet and not many people have them.

Lets see some pics. I was thinking on getting them, but I have the later '86-'87 T/A covers and I think that I'll just spray the insides.

well GTS's website is www.gtstyling.com. I looked up my part number there and bought them from summit racing at www.summitracing.com. I looked for the foglights there too, but they don't make them for third gens, only the newer camaros. so i dunno where we could find them, but i would like them too. i love my blackouts and was gonna post a pic today but just got pumbled by 15" of snow....maybe in the next few days, but keep me posted on the foglights...

IMO the blackouts look WAY better than the spray! You can order the entire kit for your 'bird from GTS, consisting of turn signal covers and tail-lite covers. I'm not sure, but I don't think the fog lite covers are available. VERY easy to make though. They are flat. Just get some smoked plexi and cut to size.

Hope I helped ya........Hammer B)

Just use a little adhesive remover or you can use a little gas! Just be careful w/it.
