Core Support
Hi,
I need to replace the core support in my latest Project as it is rotted to nothing. I have a replacment core support and was about to remove the old one until I tought if I remove all the spot welds on the support will the bodywork at the front of the car flex outwards. If it will what is generally used to "clamp" the front of the car until the new support is welded in.
Thanks.

Re: Core Support
Not sure. If the front subframe/k member is in the car, that will hold the car together. Take good measurements of the car first, that way if it does move, you will know. Maybe then pull it back into shape with some large ratchet straps.

Brillant, Ratchet straps. I had a look and I can get a large Ratchet strap 2" diameter. Says it will take 5000Kg weight which is about 5 tons. I think that should do the job.
Thanks.

Re: Core Support
I replaced my core support on my GTA. I took measurements before drilling the spot welds and nothing moved when I pulled it out. The new one went right in and lined up no problem. Leave the tires on the ground and don't move the car once the core is out.
