Cruise Control,those containers are different.

 

88-92 windshield washer fluid tanks are the same for with cruise control and non cruise control cars.

That's good to know,because that one will not fit a 86 TA/Cruise Control.

We have the 82-87 as well , when you look back at the old parts guide there does not show to be a difference between cruise and no cruise cars, there is a diff in the digital dash GTA cars and the 82-87 and 88-92. If you have further info please let me know and pics would be great , you have me curious

This is the one that's used for the 86TA with Cruise Control,notice the shape,it is molded to go around the CC unit.
I'm sorry,I just noticed that you have the reproduction for 88-92,this washer tank was used for 85-87,I apologize

For years I have been looking for an NOS tank with #10017700 printed on the bottle and have not been able to find one anywhere for my 85 camaro. It is the same tank as used on 82-84 firebirds and 82-85 camaros. It is a simple square tank without the round bulge on the front and top of the tank like the 86-87 style you have pictured. It also is not 10078368 or 10035811 I now own each of these. The 10035811 I have looks just like the one pictured by mantaguy. My 10078368 looks just like mantaguy's in the front of the bottle, but the passenger side is is wider and doesn't have the indent for the cruise control The mounting holes fit, but they don't look the same as mine what so ever and are not "original" for an 85. I was told they were the right ones for my 85 camaro when I purchased them. I have met several others looking for this same original windshield washer bottle. If you have this bottle with 10017700 I am ready to buy it now as I am sure many others are.

That is the tank that I just got today from GM and it is the wrong one. Its number is 10078368.

The one you listed a picture of was the other one I bought before. Its number is
10035811. I think this is the number on your tank.

Here is a picture of a used one on ebay. This is the one I need and have been looking for #10017700.

I don't recall the no. on mine,but it was NOS,maybe the P/N changed.Ask that seller that I listed if he has the one your looking for in NOS.I know he really went out of his way to find that one.
Those two really look the same,they have the same mounting locations and a hole in the middle for the hose bracket.

How about this one

 

I bought that one from modern day muscle about 4 years ago. It had #10035811 stamped on the top of that one. From the front of the tank it looks just like #10078368 that I just got fro GMPartsDirect.com this week. It has this number stamped on the top of it. I currently have four different ones that fit the same mounting holes. The only tank I don't have is the #10037096, but I have seen a picture of one and it also has the bulge in the front. Just looking for an NOS for 85.

The one I need is square in the front. Its #10017700.

I have a 10037096 tank,bought it on ebay and the seller wouldn't take it back.It's not the one for the cruise control K34.It's in good shape too.

 

To say the least, I know where you are coming from. What I finally figured out was that you only go for the windshield washer tank if it has the exact same number molded on the top. I wonder how many of us on third gen own 2-3 tanks that are not for our years or particular optioned models. We should get a listing of all these parts and swap them between each other to get the right ones!!!!

 

That's because mostly all the venders list the tanks as, fits all 82-92-,Camaro and FireBirds,they don't list them weather their for all the different options w/wo/K34,CD2and then some don't take returns.

I don't have a low level indicator,it was listed wrong,but it looked just like the one that I needed,so the seller said he would take it back if it didn't fit.

 

The only Camaro with the low fluid indicator were the Berlinetta models with the digital dash and they used that style of windshield washer tank. These were between 82-86 and had the bulge in the front of the windshield washer tank. There was a hole cut in the center of the round bulge area where the low fluid indicator sending unit was placed on Berlinetta models. On other models it wasn't punched put there.

 

...Tough to drop $40 on a $5 piece of plastic, $25 is realistic but i know i know, production and profit margins.

Thank you, mantaguy that is a good picture of the one I have been looking for since 2007. I want one in an NOS tank. I have 3 like it but they are yellowed a bit. If I ever find one I will only use it during a show then take it out when I drive the car home and put a used one back in. I already have an NOS radiator tank that I put in after I get to a show so that it doesn't get stained from the rusty colored water in the radiator then I replace it with my "driving radiator tank". The engine compartment looks so good with NOS windshield and radiator tanks. The tank should have a #10017700 stamped into it if anybody has one around.

You would think that since the 82-85 camaros and firebirds other than the Berlinettas use this tank somebody would reproduce it?

 

Try cleaning yours. I removed my old tank and cleaned it with some harsh cleaners, a bent metal rod and rags stuck inside the tank. After I had as much crud removed as possible, I filled the tank with bleach and let it soak. My tank cleaned up almost as good as new. It did still have a slight yellowing due to being 25 years old compared to a brand new white one, but it looked almost as good as new.

 

I cleaned mine up the same way, but it still has a yellow tint. It would be nice if a correct repro was made.

 

I have done the same thing with 30 seconds deck cleaner. Which is used to clean mold on decks outside and remove stains. It has trisodium phosphate with 10% bleach which you are suppose to dilute with water 2-1. I used it undiluted and it got rid of everything but the yellowing of the plastic tank. It worked great and it looked great, till.......

I put it next to my NOS radiator tank and it was like a before you bleach your teeth white and after difference. If anybody knows how to get the yellow out of the plastic let me know???
