That is very very sharp & clean looking. I like your color contrasts w/ the black & gray. Very good looking interior.

Thanks Mike, Yeah my car had grey interior and the seats were pretty wore out. So I went with the 4th gen seats and then I wanted to match everything up. And started to switch pieces out. I still got some touch ups left though. I ll get done soon enough(hopefully).

Oh wow!! That looks sweet! I am about to redo my interior soon. How much did it cost you, and where did you get everything from? Those are the exact colors that I want in my car.

BTW I espically like the Walmart pedals I hope to get some of those pretty soon

Looks great dacuma, very tidy. Did you paint the steering wheel spokes or bead blast it? Those seats look great.

That looks great! I especially like the steering wheel. The dual color idea looks good. Since I got charcoal seats for my IROC, I'm planning doing the same thing in reverse. I'm keeping the light grey plastic but using dark grey carpet everytwhere, except for maybe the floor. Dunno yet.

I've heard that one year in particular for the 4th gen seats suck and I dont want to get those. also, in the rear hatch area, did you just bond the carpet to the plastic side pieces like I think you did or did you buy them like that? thanks for any help yall can give me, and great job on a great interior

Hey guys thanks alot for the compliments, well let me try to answer everyone questions:
Sonar:
I got alot of black interior pieces from the U-pull it yards. Now the hard to find pieces like the Steering wheel and cargo cover I got those from www.thirdgenparts.com yeah they came through on the hard to find pieces. I prob spent about $400 in total now that sounds like a lot but I didn't get it all at the same time. But that's like everything in the car.

Austin
I painted steering wheel with some siver clear coat.
Tex: The seats are 94s and comfort factor is the best. So much more support all around, And my girl loved's them. Oh the carpet on panels, yeah your right I bonded them on. I just pulled the carpet off my old grey interior plastic pieces. Yeah I even did it at the front at the kicker panels also.

$400? Wow, thats pretty cheap. What I really need, is new Seatbelts (Mine are functional, but faded to hell), the carpet around the console, and the carpet in the hatch area, around the plastic panels. I don't have it in my car, but I think they look great!

Where did you get the seat covers at?

I got the seats for like 200 out of 94 camaro from a local savage yard. Now the seat belt thing, well from what I have heard they stop making all but one color of seatbelts for our cars grey. But I think 4th gen belts will work in our cars. I m not sure but the belts I just installed I think they came out of a fourth gen cause they had a piece of the head rest on the belt. And I pulled these out of a 91 so if they are fourthgen belts. That would be a good way to get new belts.

The 91 and 92 seat belts have the guide permenantly attached on the belt, post a picture of the guide and I can tell you if they're third or fourthgen belts.

Hey guys.. new to the board. Interior looks great. I'm actually looking into doing one or two things on mine. I need to redo the cloth on the roof of it and I have a cracked console plate. Nothing noticeable. My interior is VERY clean. The exterior looks great to match. But I just wanted to compliment the job you did on your interior. Looks great!

Oh... and TexasLT1 From what I understand the whole entire reason why most of the guys I know that are 3rd gen owners get the 4th gen seats is because they are more comfortable. Hell, I've been in them plenty of times and they're nice and comfy. Then again, anything's comfy when you're used to someone else's racing seats lol

Yay! New Pics. I gotta say Dacuma, that has gotta be "THE" sweetest interior I have seen. It may not be leather, but hey, theres nothing wrong with that. Makes me contemplate more about weather or not I want leather, or cloth for an interior.

Yeah I think you guys are right I just checked out my brothers and hes got a 94Z28 and it looks like the same guide. I don't know what the 91 92 look like but if it is a fourthgen guide. Then fourthgen seat belts will fit in our cars. And that would make it alot easier to find new belts in great condition for our cars.

Hey dacuma I like the interior, the grey and black just mix very well and I wanted grey myself but i found this car first so im not going to be picky Heres a picture of my interior on my 91z, I appear to have the same guide that you have pictured but you cant really see it too well in this picture.. anyone know if my seats are orginial? I had never seen them before i got my car, but I really havent looked at many 91-92 interiors so they probably are, they do seem to be orginial to me...

Slayer,
You got 4th gen seats in your car. The reason I know is because of the shape of your seats their like mine. They don't have a separate head like the thirdgen seats.

Jza hey your interior is the cleanest tan one that I've ever, seen great job! And the dash very nice!!! You got the dig dash and gages. Those are so sweet!!! They've got that stealth look going sweet!!!very nice Jza

Gotta love misinformation. Slayer has thirdgen seats. There were various interior levels available. The base model seats didn't have the seperate headrests. Thirdgens had various different seatbelt guides. 82-83 cars had L shaped guides, 84-90 had square P shaped guides, 91-92 had the B shaped guides, and the convertibles had no guides. I can tell you this from experiance as I've owned an 83, 87, and 3 91's.

My 83 Camaro with the base model highback seats, and L shaped guides.

My 83 Camaro with 91RS base model seats.

My 87 Iroc with square P shaped guides.

My 91 Formula with the B shaped guides.

ps, forgot to mention all of the above pictures are 100% stock with the exception of the 91RS seats that were procured from a salvage yard. Incidently the RS seats originally had the B shaped guides when I pulled them but I prefered the square guides.

Well thanks Drew for clarifying that for me, I knew they looked kinda stock in there, having base model seats I guess would explain why the drivers side isnt a power seat, also dont have power mirrors, but i think ill live, eventually might upgrade to 4th gen seats but for now I just got too much other stuff I want to do first.. thanks for the info.

Alright drew you got me. Thanks for making that one clear for me. Well like I said before the reason I thought it was 4gen was Because my brother 94Z also has the same guide. I didn't know about the base model seats. You know now that you posted the pics I have seen alot of those in the older ones. Wells heres a question I still want to know. Will fourth gen seat belts bolt in a thirdgen?

yes, all thirdgen and fourthgen seats are interchangeable. The fourthgen camaro seats are just a further developement of the base thirdgen seats... They added a little padding, changed the fabric, and no one seamed to notice. In 82-83 the base seats were pretty flat, somewhere between 83 and 90 they gave the base seats more padding. The fourthgen Firebird seats are actually just GTA seats with a few small changes to the headrests. I don't know why they dropped the seperate headrest in 93 on the camaro, but it was probably to cut costs.

Very sweet looking interior there man,
Im looking to get some 4th gen seats in my ragtop before long. I believe I've seen a 4th gen with a red/black(charcoal) combination cloth seats - can anyone confirm this...?

Thanks!

Actually, the dash in that picture is a Cyberdyne digital dash, which you cannot get from Summit, and they run from $400 - $600 on the net, I think. Although I think JEGS has the Cyberdyne dash. I don't know for sure as I don't order from those JEGS *******s...hehe.

I no longer have that dash, I'm currently running my old analog cluster while I wait for a good time and some extra parts to install the Intellitronix dash I got last week. It's completely different, and doesn't have a VSS emulator like the Cyberdyne dash did. If I had known that, I would have kept the Cyberdyne unit in the first place.

The gaugepod gauges are Intellitronix, and are very fast and accurate. Also cool to look at but not while driving. They also cause problems with clowns on the road slowing down to ogle at them and spur more races than the car itself. I plan to add an OFF switch sometime to curb that.

And yes, I enjoy that blackout look when everything's shutoff. Thanks.

BTW I totally neglected to mention the interiors posted all look great. Eventually, I'm going to change my interior to grey or black, with red accents, maybe similar to Tom Panaseny's old red 89 IROC with the Vortech 420. *drool*

hey ken,
I worked at a car wash during my senior year.

I know that a 4th gen with a red interior came through that I dried a couple of times. It's been a while, but I think the seats were red and grey. I not 100% sure though.

Jza: did you ever have a problem with the sun making the guages unreadable??

Later,
Jesse

What do you think it would look like if i used the red and black seats from a newer (4th gen) camaro and put them in my car? Then i could keep some of the red peices i have right now.

oldblueZ: No, no problems. The only way the sun can hit it with the massive overhang our dashes have is like a certain 15 minutes near sunset, and even then only on the speedometer and you can still see the numbers. Even if you can't, you just open your left hand to shade it, don't even have to move (I drive with one hand at 9 o'clock and the other on the shifter). All the LEDs are so bright you can read them anytime anywhere, and have dimmers for night driving.

Thanks guys!
I will have to start looking for a set of those red/black ones. I think it would look pretty sweet in my ragtop.
Any suggestions where to start looking...?

Thanks again!!

Yeah you should try your local savage yards. You should try them first because you can probably get them for dirt cheap. If that doesn't work then theres a guy Billy Graham I think thats his name he speciallizes in 4th gen parts. His link was on www.f-body.org

Those are some very clean interiors. Now it really pisses me off that the previous owner spilled everything possible on the seats and ripped the drivers seat.
The 4th gen seats are wonderful, even the tan interior looks great. Good job guys.

I know what you mean, the previous owner of mine did the same thing. I had this massive stain on my carpet, looked like someone got shot. I got it out though, I used that Oxi clean that stuff they have on tv and it came right out. You should try that, it may take a few times but it works.
