Need some info on a TA hood w/the 2 small vents..

I smacked up my car this weekend.Icy bridge.Anyhow I'm gonna need a hood, fender and fascia.
What I wanna know if anyone has that hood with the 2 small "grates".I'm not sure what their actual name is.
Can these things be made into some sort of "Ram-air"?
Do they go completely through the hood or are they just for show?
Has anybody utilized them in any way?
Also I'm getting the 92-93 fascia so I imagine the part where the fog lights go can be used as a way to pick up cold air.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Mike

Stock the vents aren't functional at all, just for show. The only person so far that i've seen modify them is this guy steve. Here's his website:

I cut mine open, mainly for cooling. Ram air doesnt really take effect until 70mph or so.

I couldnt get to either you site or that one. I guess it's webtv limmitations.
I know Ram-air is for higher speeds. I'm interested in cooling/cold air first, as well as any possible Ram-air effect.I was thinking of rigging up an air box, under the vents, like they have in Next Gen catalog even though I woulnt buy the airbox from them.

It should look interesting: 87 hood w/a Banshee nose on a 90 Formula.
