I have a white 86 IROC, with the strip of plastic trim along the side doors. Its become more yellow over time, while the doors have remained white. Is there any good way to restore the color to the trim without replacing the strips?

I have heard that lightly using rubbing compound has cleaned that up. don't forget to wax them when your done.
