Damn door locks

My power door looks work, but they dont work. You hit the button and the passenger side locks. but the diver side doesnt lock all the way, you have to hit the button a few times to get the orange to go all way. Any ideas?

Mine used to do the same until I took the door panel off & sprayed everything down with some lithium grease. Guess factory grease just doesnt last past 12 years

To do the job right, the door panels probably should be removed. Once inside the door, you can see/reach the lock. I suggest cleaning with WD-40 before using the white grease--there'll be many years of crud. While you're in there, do the same for the power windows and their channels.

The mechanics of the lock are more than likely working properly. Its the plastic slide that with the little red sticker on it that gets hung up in the door skin when it moves back and forth.

Squirt some of that juice in that area and work it back and forth. Or, try shaving a little of the plastic off so its not so tight. (This sounds sick!)

Popa...

Yea, you're definetly right about that...living all my life in Jersey, I know the daily aggravation of just getting to the first stop sign at the end of your street. In my own words, Jersey is nothing more than one big highway and traffic jam. A royal headache. Why do you think i moved to PA...besides the LOWER car insurance and ONE plate? So yea, when i think about it, I'll take PA over jersey any day. Just keep the beaches open for me for the summer. :-)

Popa....

Sorry for the confusion....i guess the constant smell of cattle and various other barnyard locals has taken effect on my mental dispositions, because i didnt even notice that in your profile, you listed rochester. Damn me. Well, reguardless, i lived in jersey for 21 years...i've had enough. I'd rather smell cow s**t and wipe hay off my car than live in a 24 hour, seven day a week traffic jam/headache. I am originally from North Brunswick...or, as I like to call it, "Land of the Damned."
