Removing door - questions

Since today is an absolutely beautiful day, I think I'm gonna finally go into my door and fix a few problem components, namely, the lock and window motors/actuators. Both are behaving a little more sluggishly than I want them to. So here's my question---should I just remove the whole door or leave it on while I work? While in there, I may put some sort of light foam in for sound dampening. How much do those doors weigh, anyhow? And is there anything else I should know before pulling off the doors inner panel. TIA

I don't know how much but they are heavy has heck. When I adj'ed my windows I just did it while attached. It was real easy to do it that way. Just be careful when pulling off the skin. You don't want to break too many of those clips!
