Re: My bad day
If you need a hand shipping parts from the states let me know. The bad news is 2 tail lights maybe over $60 to get there.

As did mine! This site and my obsession with these cars has caused me to have an eagle eye for 82-92 F-bodies.

Re: My bad day
Heh that Camaro looks like it's lying in wait to beat up that pos with my rims on it Maybe that's how my car got hers, shaking down smaller cars for their lunch money.

Thanks IW for identifying them! I have searched before but came up zip. Mine are 15 x 8 and don't have the Enkei on the centre cap; they do have "Spirit Of Heroes Racing" printed in a script font around the circumference.

Tuned -PM sent.

Re: My bad day
Have had some enquiries as to progress so far, this is where I'm up to:

Got her back from the shop about 3 weeks ago, they did a pretty good job of straigtening the body out. Damage repaired:
* The tops of the quarter panels that mate with the hatch had collapsed both sides, and the pillars were tweaked outwards little.
* Welds broken both ends of the beaver panel, which was pushed in 2".
* Tail light holes were out of alignment.
* 2 dents gouged in the roof by the hinges rolling over.
* Two full-depth punctures in the bumper.

The new hatch has holes for the original spoiler and wiper arms, which were going to be welded up, plus a small dent needed removing. The repairer chickened out, not wanting to risk breaking the glass - a little disappointing I guess but I'd rather have the gass intact

He re-sprayed the entire rear of the car, including the full roof, quarter panels, rear panel, hatch tail, and bumper. Puts the front half to shame, now I'll have to get that done to match .

Both he and I were unable to find a set of replacement tail-lights locally. For now, I have just removed the covers and running it as shown above. Not great but looks far better than the temp sticky-tape job I had before. I'd like to thank members Tuned Performance, and Ozz1967, for all their help and discussion with trying to source a new set of lights. I have managed to win an Ebay auction for a pretty good set of grids, will see what they really look like when they arrive.

In the month I've had the car back, true to form it's managed to break the shift cable, the handbrake cable, the odometer/trip meter, the hatch pull-down, and fired one of the broken tail light covers at a guy on bike behind me. This is typical of the crap this car always pulls one me grrrr , so she's off the road once more till parts arrive from Summit. Guess things are back to normal

Re: My bad day
Just what you need right? Put all the work into something just for someone else to ruin it. I'll pour some out for you and your car.

Re: My bad day
Well, at least you have made great progress from what you started with despite the set backs. When you get it done, it will look like a new car. Good luck, and keep us posted on the progress.

I'm on my 4th 700R4 shifter cable.. Those things are nimble.

Car looks good man.. People won't notice little small details like we do, you'll get to enjoy the car again once you finish up all those little things

Thanks for the support guys

Yup, my second one just broke for the second time. It's a Dorman, and was broken out of the box. I fixed it with some shade-tree technology, and it's been good for a few years.

To make me look , it finally decided to break again driving out of the repair shop, so in a fit of argggg I just dumped some superglue down it, and to my surprise it's holding fine. Except won't quite engage the park position. So the parking brake heard about this, and thought it would be a good time to snap it's front cable, leaving me with a car I can't park anywhere except chocked in the garage

Next new cable's sitting on my shelf, ATP this time, waiting for time to put it in

Re: My bad day
was in tears reading through this post. everytime i'm out driving i'm paranoid about ppl hitting me from behind. I hope I'm lucky enough that I never have to replace the rear hatch or T-Tops. Glad its working out for you though.

Glad to help mate! I'm just glad you were able to keep them from totaling it! I can't wait to see pictures of her when she's done! Let me know if you need anything else!
