leaky t-tops

i have a 84 trans am with t-tops and the t-tops leak. They leaks from the front and rear of the t-tops. Kind of like where the rod comes out to hold the t-top on. both in the front and the rear. Do i need to change the whole t-top seal or what? if not then what do i need to do? is this just a problem every car with t-tops have or can it be fixed?

I replaced both of mine. Fixed my leaks.
There is an adjustment where the T-top latches engage. I had to weld a little to close up the hole after I ran out of adjustment.

Did you do the install yourself and did it involve lots of sealant use? I'm looking to replace all weatherstripping on my wifes '86 Ttop camaro and read up on old posts on this site for both hatch leaks and Ttops....is soffseals offerings the '2nd' design as GM changed? Soffseals site wasn't clear if their kit had all Ttop seals or not....didn't even ask if you had Ttops etc.

We replaced one with GM part and it's still leaked even after I sealed some areas with silicone. Do you fill the channel with sealant and then install the Ttop w-stripping?

thanks in advance

I had that problem too. All I did was move the brackets that the rod bolts into down. It made the T-tops squeeze harder against the wheather stripping. I haven't had a problem since!!!
