Non GM T-top question (Cars&Concepts?)

Here goes...
My 84 Camaro has the "other" T-tops, the ones not installed by GM. I think they were subcontracted out by the dealer or something to a now defunct company called Cars and Concepts. Anyways, the T-top design that they used has the weatherstripping seal against the glass around the inside of the T-top opening, not at the edges, like the GM ones do. Along the front and back edges, on the outside (against the glass), there is aluminum strips or channels with a sort of felt windlace or something to sort of seal the glass to the body of the car. I'm wondering if anybody knows a source for a replacement for this felt covered part. I got replacement weatherstripping a few years ago (from Metro weatherstrip maybe?) but really want to replace this other part as well. It is all torn up, and very ugly. Either needs replacement or removal, preferably replacement I think. If anybody knows what I am talking about, please let me know any info you have about it. If nobody has a clue what this is, I'll try to take and post some pictures tomorrow. Thanks

Now this is 'torn up & ugly'

Glad I'm not the only one with these crap t-tops (if indeed mine are like what you are talking about). I've noticed every older camaro I've seen in a junkyard had seals more like my bird & never quite knew why. And now I know,,, the rest of the story

Here is the website to order: http://www.sunroofdoctor.com/8292f.htm

Haven't had any problems with my T-top (Cars & Concepts). Also the car is in the garage. All it life did it in 1990.

Hope this helps

deadbird,

That's EXACTLY what I am talking about. Mine looks pretty much like yours does. Plain nasty.

Firebird90,
Thanks for the link. They've got the "P" seals I'm looking for for like $43.50 per side.

umm... if you've ever seen a C&C tops and stock t-tops you would KNOW that C&C did a MUCH BETTER job than GM...

extra bracing , looks better , better design , doesn't leak (or WAY less than stock ones)...

consider yourself lucky that you have C&C t-tops , I have them on my car and love 'em... I also have several jealous friends 'cause they get wet during a storm... thank god for C&C

only thing that I don't like about them is the headliner they used , I just made my own board and covered it with vinyl , looks awesome....
