how do the wiper ARMs come off

how do the wiper ARMs come off
I want to take mine off to repaint them, and I know about marking them to replace them in the same position, but I can't figure out how they come off, and the ol' Chilton's mentions some tool to have to do it. This is on a '91 Z28... thanks...

Look at the base of the arm, and you will see a little metal tab sticking out. Lift the arm away from the windshield as far as it will go. Take a screwdriver and pry that tab out; it sort of clips the arm to the thing it sits on, but unless the arm is all the way up, it holds the tab in place. After you slide the tab over then it will hold the arm up and take all the spring tension off of the mechanism.
