body probs

a coupla days ago, i hit a rock with my camaro. (the whole story is in "frame issues" on the V6 board) anyway, i put a really big gouge in the rocker panel on the pass side, at the end of the door. it's about 8-10 inches long, 4 inches wide, and pushed in about 3. when it got pushed it, it moved the body panels up about 1/2 inch, so my door doesnt close now. my question is, how should i get the dent out of the rocker panel? can i use a normal dent puller? is the metal too strong for that? should i just try to adjust the door so that it fits instead? keep in mind this is the first time ive ever had to do body work, so im absolutely clueless on what to do
