Car: '89 GTA 9,000 MILES
Engine: 350
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.27 9 bolt
Is there a heavy duty hood strut ?
I put a fancy embroidered hood insulator on my car and kinda regret it but guess I will keep it.
Even with new hood struts the hood will not stay all the way up..........anyone know of a heavy duty hood strut ?

Don't member the auto parts store asking me what hood I had but will double check.

Hood struts don't last forever and I gave up replacing them. My opinion is engine heat kills them over time.

I replaced mine just over a year ago, and they area already starting to fail. They were lifetime warranty, I just need to find the receipt

I have had the standard Stabilus gas hood struts on my all steel cowl hood for over 3 years with no problems.Bought at O'Reilly's auto parts.
