I woke up Sunday morning to find that someone had taken a baseball bat or a 2x4 and smashed my windshield, passenger window, and rear hatch glass. My car was parked on the street next to my driveway. I spent hours vacuuming out the glass off of the carpet and my new leather seats that I put in less than a week ago. Anyway, I looked on the internet yesterday to find some prices and from what I found it looks like it will cost $1000+ installed to replace the glass. Does anyone know of a good place that sells the glass for our cars cheap?

Won't insurance cover that?

Yes but I'll still have to pay the $500 deductible and by reporting another claim to our insurance will only jack our rates up even higher. I'm 19 and still under my parents' coverage. My mom was in a wreck less than a year ago so that made everyone's insurance go up. My 16 yr old brother just started driving so that puts another point on the insurance for having an unexperienced driver on the plan. Also, I recently got a speeding ticket out of state so we are still waiting on the next statement to see if they found out about that and will raise the rates again. Some good news though is that our homeowners insurance may cover it because it was parked at my house. I should know that in a couple of days.

The real question is this though: Just in case, does anyone know of a place that I can get the glass for cheap?

Thanks

try an junkyard or thirdgenparts.com. I don't know about shipping glass or what, maybe you can get a junker camaro for 350 with all the glass.

if you lived closer to MA I would give you all the glass for free...

just look around your u-pullit junkyards etc... all the glass from 82-92 firebird/camaro was the same so you have a really good chance of finding whatever you need...

by the way , here in MA insurance company has to replace the glass for free... no deductible and stuff... so maybe you should give them a call and find out if it's the same in GA...
