89 TA hatch lock removal w/pics

How in the h*** do you get the rear hatch lock out? Ive drilled the rivets out and managed to get the outer bezel off. Tried to insert the key but that didnt help. The key wont work in it anymore and even the door locks are acting up. So,since Im prepping it for paint, decided to replace them all. Anyone got an idea?

Like I said,I drilled the rivets out. And the ONLY way its going to come out is to take it farther apart. On mine the white plastic is mtd on the outside.

Need to pull the end of the cable off of the back of it before it's going to come out... Or it will never fit through the hole... It just pulls off (or pushes off with the help of a screwdriver).

Try putting bolts back into the holes that the rivets came out of before you try to pry off the lock cable again... It helps to have some support on the lock before you try to pry the cable off. Then, once you get the cable off, take the bolts and the lock out.
