Trim at top of door panel
I will be replacing the plastic trim at the top of each door panel with pieces from the junkyard. The window sweeps on my old pieces are in better shape than the replacement ones. Can I pop off the bad ones and attach the better piece with rivets or screws? My concern is wether they will scratch the window when it goes up or down.

They are held onto the door panels with things that look a little like upside-down pal nuts. There are little protrusions in the plastic piece that stick through the panel, and those nut things screw down onto them. If you're real careful with a pair of lineman's pliers or something likt that, you can unscrew them and put them on another of the plastic pieces.
It's been a couple of months since I bought my new plastic trim pieces from GM; but IIRC the felt cannot be easily removed.
BTW, GM still had them fairly recently, rather than fiddling around with a bunch of old junk that's only marginally better than what you've got now, you might want to consider just getting new ones. At the same time you change those out, it would be great to change the outer felt, and the rubber seal on the triangle piece at the front of the window; if your window rubber is in good shape, replacing all that stuff will totally get rid of all wind noise. My 83 is quieter now than it ever has been, and I've had it since 85.

The seal it self can be swaped fairly easily. Best bet if you don't go new is drill out the plastic "rivits" and when installing the one from your old panel use a nice wide/ low profile screw. I did this on my winter 86 sc and worked perfect.
