Replacing the hood damper question...
I am replacing the hood damper on one side and I need it compress a little in order for it to fit. I have tried everything I can think of and I can't budge it...
Does anyone have a good tip or pointer I can try???

Lower the hood until it slips on.

If I understand you correctly, the strut is too long. In that case just push the hood up a little using your shoulder and then attach the strut
