T/A Decal Questions

Just have a couple decal questions I was wondering if you guys could help me with. First, I'm looking to buy a pair of fender "Trans Am" decals, and have found both the common solid block letters, and then I also see that some cars also have the "outline" version like this:

I personally kind of like the outline version, but just wondering the reason for the two different kinds, and what years would be correct for the outline decals.

Also have a question regarding the hood bird. I'm still kicking around the idea of buying one for my car, but I've become kind of confused at the different sizes of birds I've found in some pictures. It seams like there's at least two different sizes, one a little larger than the other.

Here's some small ones...

One that's kind of in the middle...

Size: 60.8 KB

And a couple larger birds...

Size: 117.0 KB

I tend to think the larger bird looks the better of the two, but how can you tell the size before you buy it, and is the bigger one even possibly a custom printed decal? I'd love to find one of the larger decals if I could.

Thanks!

Re: T/A Decal Questions

Thanks for the link! Anyone ever bought from those guys before? I'm a little concerned they're so much cheaper than say a site like Phoenix Graphics. Tried looking for some reviews but couldn't find any. I love that I can choose the size, but I'd also like it to last for more than a year too. lol Btw I love your '85 nhgator! haha

Anybody know the dimensions of the bird you get from Phoenix Graphics?

My hood bird is from them,I screwed up the Pheonix one that came with the set I purchased, after the stripes were a small nightmare I bought the hood bird from them instead, very fast shipping and the one question I had they answered very promptly.

Re: T/A Decal Questions

Very cool. How do you find the quality of the decal compared to the Phoenix one? Has it held up over time? Also do you remeber what size you ordered?

Thanks for the help!

Re: T/A Decal Questions

It layed down better than the Pheonix one,but I think I got a crap kit that had been sitting around a while from Pheonix, they have a great reputation and what I got must have been an anomaly.

I got the 30"x30" silver metallic bird,it's a little smaller than the one I destroyed but I like it.
