Rear spoiler question

I have an 82 berlinetta i bought, and i have discovered the hatch has been updated. it has the 3rd brake light on the spoiler. anyways, the spoiler was broken, so i got another with the 3rd brake light, and this one sticks out about a 1/2 inch past the hatch, and doesnt line up with the driver and passenger sides of the spoiler (little triangle things). anyone know why this one doesnt fit? thanks

Maybe your glass hatch has to be adjusted. That's done by the 4 bolts on the top--2 on each side.

The rear hatches on both my 86' and my 89' did not line up. The hatch stuck out about 1/2" past the quarter panels on both sides. You might be able to adjust the hinges by loosening the bolts and moving the hatch. I never tried it, never bothered me enough.

There is a tech article on this for properly aligning the rear deck.

The glass hinges are not designed to be adjusted (unless I have a prototype '87 & '84). If you feel the need to check anyways, use a sealant to reseal the hinges to the body to avoid leaks.

*edit,, I'll even give you the link
