T top fitment?

So i took off my old pin recievers for the t tops and cant seem to get them to fit like they used to...when i latch down the ttops they pull to the right and dont sit right with the weatherstripping..i have tried adjusting them numerous times but just cant get them to look or sit flush with the weatherstripping. I just want the ttops to sit like factory! Any suggestions?

Re: T top fitment?

Start by double checking measurements. Make sure the tops are square (or each one measures the same(perimeters). Check the opening squareness, from structural sheet metal points not trim or bracketry. Check that the T-top bar (what they slide into) is installed square. The first step is to get the tops to fit without being latched. Once they fit without being latched, and then move when latched you can adjust the latches. I havn't done a thirdgen for a while, but I imagine the easiest thing to adjust would be the bracket that the pins slide into. You will have to remove all trim around them so you can see what way they need to move. You will have to do what it takes to move the brackets where you need them. You may have to elonggate holes, or even weld them up and start fresh.

Weathersripping will develop a memory. I dont think this is what you have going on, but put it in the back of your mind.

On a side note, I would recomend installing a couple of sets of SFCs if you havnt already.

Re: T top fitment?

Tried adjusting again today...Now I don't know if my weather-stripping is even in right. in the front above the windshield, the passenger side sits flush with the metal, however on the drivers side, the weatherstripping sits below the metal...I don't even know what to do anymore, and I think im the only guy in Hampton roads with a 3rd gen so I don't know who I can have help me.
