GTA molded door panels?

Does anyone know what exact years that the GTA's offered the molded style door panels? I saw a beat up set the other day and would really be interested in finding a semi decent set to replace my basic flat panel with the bolt on handle.

I really like the look of the one with the handle molded in.

This will free up a good set of door panels and cup/map holders to sell cheap to anyone who has a line on what I'm looking for.

Thanks

The molded door panels were used in 1987, 1988, and 1989. Some early 1990 models may have used them as well.

1990, 1991, and 1992 models used the flat panels with the cupholder attached at the bottom where the carpeted map pocket was attached previously.

Mucho thanks...now the hard part of tracking down a semi-decent pair.

I've seen a few Formulas w/the same panels too. Don't know if someone put them in or if they came stock like that.

They came in every style bird that came from the factory. I've seen them myself in TAs (just yesterday), GTAs, my formula, and even a base model. They're a immmense pain to find in good condition and you'll have to modify the door itself to get them to bolt on. The molded-in door panels have a piece of steel tac welded on and it sticks out a good 2" for the armrest to bolt to, unlike the flat panels rest bolting directly to the door. So you'll just have to cut a piece of metal to bolt/weld on the door and drill bolt holes for the armrest, but they look 100% better than the flat panels.

that's not what I did. All i did was drill one hole for the armrest and everything went in like it belongs there. didn't have to add any metal--just needed a dril bit.

Well, if I could find a pair that simply are not cracked or broken up, I'm going to reapholster them anyway. And that sounds like a simple enough mod to create some new mounting points...wouldn't be the first time I've custom fabed mounts for something.

Thanks
