1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula: Did they come with one or two tone paint from factory?
SubscribeHello all,
been a while since I've been around... Looking to buy a 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula in the next week or two. It have a 305 TPI engine, automatic transmission & T-Top. The car has around 70 000 miles but it need a new paint job because it was vandalized. I know that the paint on it is not original and I want to restore it the way it was in 1988. By looking at pics around on the Internet, I don't know what is original. So do a 88 Formula came with only one color from top to bottom or was it two tone with the bottom in another color?
Thanks all!

They came both ways from the factory. Two-tone was standard. But there was an option to delete the two-tone scheme and have one color: RPO code WX1.
Thanks for clarifying this up for me.

I'd say the majority of them were originally two tone...a lot of them are getting repainted as a single color though.
