Ive got a fairly common problem among T-Top cars, the weatherstripping is leaking. Anybody know how much it is to replace it on bothe sides?

To much in my opinion, because alot of times when they start leaking it takes alot of time and moneyt to figure out exactly what were the leak is coming from. Its not always the stripping, it can be the body also. The weatherstripping was about $400 when i replaced it. I just sold my car because of how mush the t-tops cost me.

TACreations sells a GM t-top kit for both sides for around $160. Installation yourself is not very difficult (instruction included)

See if you can find out exactly where the leak is coming from. Just put up your windows and spray some water from a hose on the top of your car to simulate rain. Depending on how much the car leaks, this could take a while (my car leaks verrry slightly). Once you find the leak, you may want to try putting some RTV gasket-maker on there. It comes in a tube and is available at most auto parts stores. Then, place a sheet of wax paper on the RTV and put the T-tops back on. This will cause the RTV to "form" around the T-top seal without sticking to the T-top itself.

I am going to try this on my car in about a week or so. My dad suggested it to me, and I don't really see a reason why it wouldn't work.
