Window contacting weatherstrip retaining plate

Hello. Just picked up another camaro the other day. Included with the car was the plate that holds the weatherstrip in place to the rear of the window. Upon reinstalling it, I discovered why it was not on. The rear of the window contacts it when I close the door. It seems as though I need to raise the rear of the window. I read the tech article and am still a bit confused. Is this my problem? If so, how easily accomplished is the fix? Thanks!

It could possibly need to be adjusted, but if the door is hanging low, it might need new hinge bushings. Can you move the door if you lift it? Check to see if there is any play in the hinges.

I'll have to check that again. I thought about that, as the previous owner just replaced the hinges. The gap between the bottom of the door and the rocker looked good, so I kinda dismissed it quickly. Worth a second look

If the hinges are good, you could adjust the window. There are 2 adjustments that adjust the height of the window IIRC. You would need to adjust the rear one to allow the window to go up a little more. Is the car a t top or hardtop? How is the gap with the weatherstrip at the top of the window?

The car is a hardtop. The gap between top of glass and weatherstrip is greater at the rear. The glass stamp, the ppg safety emblem is not level. The rear of that is dropping down below where the window comes down. That says to me it's too low. It seems these window adjustments are a nightmare. I assume if I raise the rear I need to lower the front?
