Rust & rot, all around A/C evaporator box
^^^is what I discovered today on my '84 T/A when I went to take out the evap.box to get at the exhaust bolts from above. Basically everything between that box and the wheelwell is rotted right through, leaving big gaping holes straight into my interior, plus a huge water stain in the carpet. The mounting surfaces for the evap.box just crumbled away into pieces so now I don't have any ventilation other than the T's and windows.
What i'm asking is, is this feasible to repair (and how can it be done), or should I just ditch the car and find a better one?

I have NO Idea what you are looking at. BUT, I have a friend that had alot of rust and he bought some fiberglass cloth and some fiberglass resin & hardner and covered his entire interior with the crap (under the carpet & panels). Once it all hardened up and the smell went away from the resin it worked like a charm. Of course I do not know your situation and it would have to be your call on that one.

I am almost tempted to say look for another car, but sometimes there is emotional attachement. OR get another car and use your current car as parts. Strip every good part off of it and keep what you might want later sell the rest on e-bay.
