Door lock instalation
Door lock instalation
I have a car that did not come with power doorlocks. I have purchased a pair of aftermarket doorlock actuators. I believe that the stock actuators mount in the bottom corner of the door. Could someone give me an idea of how the rod from the actuator mounts to the lock release. Thanks for any advice.

My aftermarket actuators came with little metal clips that hold the rod from the actuator onto the rod on the door lock rod. I mounted the actuators about 8 inches from the rear of the door and 6 inches down from the top if I remember right. There should be a nice big hole in the door sheetmetal there.

The most important thing is to find a spot where you can securely mount the actuator perfectly parallel with the rod. If you mount it on an angle, over time you'll burn out the actuator.
