Bird Hood vents on Camaro?
A while back I was thinking of adding hood scoops on my hood for the L69 intake, after looking at some Firebirds.. do you think the hood vents from the birds would look any good on a camaro in the location in the pic below?

Actually, I really don't like it but that's just my opinion. If you like it though, don't worry about what people think; do it. Cause if you are not changing or modding your car for yourself, then what's the point?

Might be an interesting challenge to install them but I kind of like the idea. I would consider pitting them closer to the rear of the hood like the Z34 Luminas of the 90's
I am all for mods that make people wonder "is that original".
A purist would know, but then I get some "experts" asking questions about my car.

Yes of course.. it would be pointless to put something like that in, if it didn't do anything. I figured if I place them in that area in the right spot, when I'm driving it would act like a ram air for my duel snorkle intake, and if it rains, the water would pass right down to the ground, I'd have to ad a water catch with drains of course. I'm kinda torn bewteen modifying & stock.. already I've started modifying it.. But if our cars ever became "collectible" a stock one would be worth more. But I just don't know if an RS would be collectable... even if it has the Medium Beechwood interior.. still have not got enough info to determine if it's a rare color for a black car. The history section didn't bring much for results. Thanks for your input guys...

For some reason I HIGHLY doubt any third gens (besides the rare pace car editions and other rare models - not ones with 'rare' option combo's) will be anything close to collectible... And who cares if a mod you did makes it worth less? Did you buy the car to enjoy/mod/drive/race or did you buy it just to turn around and sell it the future sometime?

I'd never sell this car, unless there was absolutly nothing left of it. and sine I usually try and jump on rust as it starts showing, which is very little on the body, I think it'll be around for a while.. No if only I had a garage to keep it in I'd really be happy. True enough there ar several other camaros that would be more collectible than others. But then to me pretty much any camaro is worth it.. I think the first thing I need to do before I consider putting vents like that in the hood is check to see if that area is a high or low pressure area, since the air is hitting the head light area, there could be a fair bit of turbulance in that area. Thanks for your input Crusader.

I think it looks okay. Hey Has anyone seen the Mitsubishi Evolution 6? I'm going to make my hood like that. With the two big vents in the middle area.

Actually 85riceeater, the vents in the pic, are not to scale, chances are the real vents are a bit larger. I just don't like the vents on the side of the rised induction section on the Daytona Iroc Turbo hoods. there is one around here, and it makes the hood look cluttered. All though, just browsing in a different window and this one with that hood actually looks ok, I may have changed my views a bit http://www.camaroz28.com/picpost/218.shtml
Hey REVLIMIT, that is a cool looking hood. Kinda like a mini version of the iroc hood.
