fuel gauge doesnt work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Engine: lt1 intaked 355 makin 277 on 25 psi of fuel pressure and stock timing :)
Transmission: A4 stock... that moved a mobile dyno a foot shifting into 2nd :)
fuel gauge doesnt work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok i took out the gauge cluster to replace the headlight switch only to find out that that wasnt the problem..... which made me mad. but then when i put the cluster back in the fuel gauge pegged all the way up and got stuck... and never went back down.... wwhats the deal?
