I'm working on my 91 rs and want to touch up the under hood area before I put my motor in my car. car is Dark red with paint code wa9540. Trying to find something in a spray can I can use. Autozone has several dark red colors but none are an exact color code match. Has anybody done this with off the shelf stuff? Obviously want it to look at close at possible to the rest of the car. Thanks in advance

 

Maybe the store could order you a can or two.I got mine at either Pep Boys or Advance.

 

we don't have any pep boys here anymore. will check advance. they have a couple of dark red colors from gm, but none are the right code. my paint is so faded on the exterior of the car would be hard to match it up by looking at the lids anyways. car is getting repainted within a year but don't want to have to pull everything out of it again.

 

Dupli-Color is a common brand,try other automotive stores,or you can go to a local automotive paint supply and have them mix you up a couple of spray cans.(wa9540.)

 

I dont know of any spray can paint out there that will match this color same color as my car if it were me I would go with a base coat clear coat it will hold up longer under the hood because of all the heat
