i'm trying to decide on what to do with my stock steering wheel, i don't like aftermarket wheels and want a different look.

It depends on what style you want. To do a custom steeringwheel with stitchilg like a baseball that all has to be done by hand, expect to pay $400 - $1000 if not more. To simply wrap it with the aftermarket wrap that can be found in virtually ANY auto store..nothing more than your time.
