How can I get this off the paint?!?

I've tried sanding it but It just melts. I've tried other things. What will just make it come right off? It's the color fade decal type thing from the beige to gold. Look at the signature.

Heat it with a heatgun if you have one, or just a good hairdryer. The heat should melt the glue and allow you to peel it off. Just be careful and don't burn yourself.

3M also makes adhesive cleaner that, with a little elbow grease, will take away all the glue left behind.

3M makes a "Stripe Eraser" that attaches to a drill. Very easy and will not harm the paint below. For *** sakes, don't sand it! The eraser will also take the sanded parts off clean. When i took my '82's original stripes off in '94, i used a heat gun and it was a PITA. The stripes kept breaking off (brittle) plus the heat of the gun on the plastic (covers) is not good. I wish i knew of the eraser then. The front cover is especially hard with a heat gun because the stripe wants to tear at every little stone chip.

Use a hair blow drier it will come right off. Go to PepBoys buy some bumper sticker remover clean the area of any leftover glue etc. also heard you could use WD40.

3M Stripe eraser can be had at any auto body supply store or auto parts stores like NAPA.
It takes the glue off too, in a fraction of the time it takes using a heat gun.
