Passenger door hitting body

I have an 89 Bird and everytime I open the passenger door the front on it at the point of curve is scraping the fender. What can i do to fix this? do I need to replace the hinges or bushings? maybe jsut re allign the door somehow?

This problem can easily be fixed by adjusting the fender. Loosen the bolts that hold the bottom of the fender to the body. Then push the bottom of the fender up slightly. You will notice that the fender will "bow" at it's center. Tighten the bolts up. And check the fit. You may have to do this once more. Its a pretty quick job.

Is there anyway to UN-Bow the fenders?? Both of mine stick out about 3/4" And I really dont' like it. I am getting the car painted soon so I need to know. Is it just my fenders? I see A LOT of 3rd gens with this problem though.

My car did the same thing. So I just loosened the bolts and slowly worked the fender in until I got it where I wanted it.

But remember that the fender MUST still protrude about 1/4" to 5/16" past the fender. Otherwise you will have the same problem of the door hitting the fender.
