Replacing doors on 88 camaro?
I have some rust on the doors on my car, so I got two rust-free doors from a friend. I just wanted some advice on the easiest/best way to take off the doors that's currently on it and put another set of doors on.

It can be done by yourself, but would be easier with another pair of hands. It's a straight forward dissasembly/reassembly job though. Unhook everything, support the door, remove the pins, take it off, and then do the whole process backwards to put the new door on.

Re: Replacing doors on 88 camaro?
those pins arent gonna come out less very lose n worn.
6 bolts hold the hing to car, door side of hing is welded to door...
done my right side alone, gonna do left here soon.
good time to change locks of worn, $20 rockauto gets a whole set for doors n hatch with keys.
some under coating inside door to help with road noise and future rust.

I just took my drivers side door off to replace the pins and bushings.
If you have an engine hoist, that made everything easier. Seemed a lot better than trying to balance it on a jack.
I am a complete novice on working on cars, and it turned out fine.
It is kind of weird to shut the door so easy...my whole childhood it was loud and sagging.

Re: Replacing doors on 88 camaro?
I would. You already have them off. That is half the battle.
The bottom pin will come out, the top bushings are non-removeable. Use your imagination if you want to replace those. I used an angle grinder, but it was kind of sloppy. Im sure there is an amazing how to written on here already. Just search.
I bought a cheapo kit and I cannot tell you how durable it is. I have had it on a few weeks. I paid $9 on rockauto. There are greasable ones elsewhere, but im on a "what my wife will let me spend" budget.
