just put in a set of these from 1aauto. they send a nice complete kit for doing this solo. just use the shipping container to support the hatch like this:



it looks off center from the angle but its straight. its thick enough and strong enough to support the hatch. remove the small bolt holding the square notched end in from the rear of the hatch remove the strut off the hatch then remove the torx bolt holding it into the body. just reverse to install starting with the torx end, then attaching the hatch end.

if you order this you dont need a helper or need to go find an extending support.
