Need T Top Help

I've read all the threads about t top leaks and have looked through the archives but didn't see anything that described my leak problem so i'll ask.
My car is an 84 the, the only place water ever leaks in no matter how hard it rains is the 4 places right where the tops meet the body at the side windows front and rear of the tops water drips in No leaks anywhere around the perimeter of the tops no matter how hard it rains. Do i just need to replace the rubber on the tops themselves, if i look i can see a slight gap between the rubber at the ends of the tops and where it meets perimeter gaskets. I hate to go replaceing all the seals if i don't to because i've heard horror stories about people that have replaced all the seals and had a worst leak than they did before. I can't even find a body shop that will do it and none will promise it won't still leak.

Hard to say for sure without pics but it sounds like the glass needs to be adjusted tighter to the top seal. Possible that seal needs to be replaced.

The slight gap is not between the glass and t top, it's between where the t top rubber meets t top opening rubber at the front and rear of the t top at the area where t top curves down to meet glass

Re: Need T Top Help

You can build up the ends w/ blk RTV.In effect making them longer. So they contact one another.I did this on my C&Cs by wrapping masking tape around the ends. Then putting a "cap" between the tape.I made the cap from a piece of thin plastic w/ masking tape on it.Let the RTV cure then remove cap/tape.The plastic piece was cut in the shape of the seal ends.So it forms the RTV properly.Worked very well.
