Door lock actuator

I have a door that is slightly damaged and I've got a new one I can put on I pulled from a yard. Thing is I can't seem to access the door lock actuator to replace it with the original one. I've looked at it and it seems like there's a c-clip holding it in place from inside the door, but it's just very hard to access. Any ideas, suggestions how to go about this?
