chassis rust hole opinion
Hi
I'm showing perhaps the most insidious and considerable rush-hole on my GTA, in order to ask some opinions:

It is located in a uncomfortable position, next to the exaust pipes, and doesn't seem small.
Questions are: what am I supposed to do? How can I repair it? Should I cut the metal and place a metal layer, or clean it and leave it there?
Any help would be appreciated

Isnt that the metal lip or how is called between the rocker panel and floor pan?
You can corect that with a small piece of metal .Its not affecting the structural integrity of the car .Most people weld their subframe connectors on that too.
i bet that is rusted out because someone lift the car usint that metal edge and it bent it and in time it rusted out.

Remove the exhaust and the carpet from the right side of the car. You may also have to remove the ground effects panel along the rocker as well. That will allow you access to investigate the damage further and make repairs. Rot should be cut out and new metal welded in place.

You get the point: we figured someone lifted the car in a wrong way, bending the lower lip and maybe removing the anti-rust paint, perhaps opening holes and letting the rust to come.
Unfortunately, the car guy didn't have time enough to perform a full job, thus removing pipes and everything in order to cut the rust and replace it with a new metal piace. Instead, we tried the better we could to remove the rust with a grinding machine, the put a antirust paint, and then a hi-priced protective paint.

What you have done , is beat the rust monster down a bit , but you have not slain him by any means ! All those "Rust miracle" paints will slow the rot down , for a while , but as you already know the only way to 100% STOP the rot is to cut out ALL of the rotted metal and replace it with new . Bonus points if the new metal can come from a non rotted junkyard car , but even "homemade" patches & panels are preferable to "treated" rot holes that are just waitin for ya to be not looking , and then Mr. rot monster wakes up and takes the rest of the floor

I know that :'((((
It was a huge work in that point. Roughly, how much time do you think I can run without taking care of that point, since now it's treated?
thanks
