help installing nose emblem(has indent where it goes but the holes were painted over)
Ok guys, my 90 RS I bought didn't have a nose emblem. I bought one to put back on. My problem is that the holes for the emblem were painted over. My question is how to I open the holes back up without cracking the paint around the emblem.
Thanks
Thanks

They must have of filled them with something. I highly doubt just painting over them would cover them so well that you cant find them. I would put blue masking tape around/over where you are going to drill/probe with small sharp object. That will help protect the area and will also make it less likely to tear/chip paint. Remember that the bumper cover is flex-able and if flexed too much will cause paint to spider crack. Who would want to not have their emblem on their Camaro? You got the right one, right?

Drilling was my first thought but the bottom hole for the emblem is really close to the edge of the indent and I don't want my custom paint to chip off outside of that indent. I was just trying to see if anyone else has done this and what was their technique.

Cool thanks for the tip. Well I guy I got it from bought from someone who wrecked it. And the previous owner was a paint and body guy so I think he just decided to paint it instead of getting a new one. Yeah I bought it from hawks third gen and made sure it was the correct one.

Try twisting the drill bit by hand so it cuts more smoothly, or use a hobby razor knife with the pointed tip to carefully cut and separate the paint surface.
Try the inner most hole first to test.
Edit: If it was painted over or filled it, the emblem may not fit properly so check that before hand.
