A pic would help out. I have heard of glass de-laminating over time but never fading.

If the glass is de-laminating, as in the plastic sheet between the two pieces of glass is separating, then yes tint will help hide it.

Only the windshield is laminated.Must be looking at some residual adhesive from the tint. Also not sure how glass can fade.

I don't think the rears of our cars is laminated, there's no need, its not "saftey glass".
If it's something on the outside or between the layers, no it probably won't hide it.
Source: I'm a professional window tinter. Tis what I do. If something in the glass is messed up, typically tint can actually make it more noticeable, since pre tint, your focus would go through the glass mostly. With tint providing a dark contrast/background, your eyes will focus ON the glass more, as well as whatever artifact being more noticeable.
happens all the time when a customer had a scratch in the glass and never noticed until they get it tinted.
